OpenAI, Anthropic and Google offer frontier AI to US agencies for about $1 via GSA
Under GSA's OneGov strategy, OpenAI offered ChatGPT Enterprise to federal executive-branch agencies for $1 per agency for a year, and Anthropic followed on 12 August with Claude for $1 across all three branches. GSA's 'Buy AI' page later also listed Google Gemini for Government at $0.47, xAI Grok at $0.42 and Perplexity at $0.25, with pricing running through September 2026 or later.
Why it matters
Near-free enterprise licences made frontier chatbots a default federal tool and turned government adoption into a land-grab among labs, with pricing due to reset from late 2026.
