White House publishes America's AI Action Plan and three executive orders
'Winning the Race: America's AI Action Plan' sets out policy actions under three pillars: accelerating innovation, building AI infrastructure, and international AI diplomacy and security. It calls for a GSA 'AI procurement toolbox', frontier-model access for federal staff, and for agencies to weigh a state's AI regulatory climate in funding decisions. Three EOs signed the same day cover data-centre permitting, exporting the 'American AI technology stack' and 'Preventing Woke AI in the Federal Government'.
Why it matters
It is the policy root of the 2025-26 US moves on federal AI procurement, AI exports and pressure on state AI laws.
