White House commits $5bn+ to Genesis Mission and selects 278 AI-for-science projects

OSTP announced more than $5 billion in federal commitments from more than 15 agencies and selected 278 projects in a first round, under national challenges spanning health and longevity, infrastructure and energy affordability, industrial strength, discovery frontiers (including autonomous labs) and protection against emerging threats. DOE separately reported over $800 million in commitments from the Genesis Mission Consortium, which includes all 17 national labs and 41 industry, nonprofit and philanthropic organisations.
