Meta signs nuclear deals with Vistra, TerraPower and Oklo for up to 6.6GW by 2035

Meta announced agreements covering up to 6.6GW of new and existing nuclear capacity by 2035: 433MW of uprates at Vistra's Perry, Davis-Besse and Beaver Valley plants, funding for two TerraPower Natrium reactors with rights to up to six more, and an Oklo campus in Pike County, Ohio of up to 1.2GW targeted for around 2030. The deals came out of a request for proposals Meta issued in December 2024.

Why it matters

Hyperscalers are now underwriting new reactors directly, tying AI data-centre growth to the pace of US nuclear licensing.
