FCA names Barclays, UBS, Experian and others in second AI Live Testing cohort

ProgrammeFinanceGBConfirmed

The UK Financial Conduct Authority named eight firms for the second cohort of its AI Live Testing service: Aereve, Coadjute, Barclays, Experian, GoCardless, Lloyds Banking Group (Scottish Widows), UBS and Palindrome. Use cases include agentic payments, AML detection, KYC, credit-score insights and AI-enabled investment support; testing runs to end-2026 with an evaluation report due in Q1 2027.

Why it matters

The FCA is building its AI expectations from supervised real-world deployments, including agentic payments, rather than writing AI-specific rules first.
