FDA gives all employees agentic AI tools after 70% take-up of Elsa

FDA extended its internal AI programme to agentic systems that can plan and carry out multi-step tasks under human oversight, available to all staff. The agency said more than 70% of employees had voluntarily used Elsa since its launch, and opened a two-month internal Agentic AI Challenge with demonstrations due in January 2026.
