Microsoft cuts an Israeli defence unit's access to Azure storage and AI services

After an internal review prompted by press reports, Microsoft said it had found evidence supporting claims that a unit of Israel's Ministry of Defense used Azure to store surveillance data, including storage capacity in the Netherlands, and had used its AI services. Microsoft disabled the specified subscriptions and services, citing its terms of service ban on technology for mass surveillance of civilians.
